Meeting on Dec. 9, 2006, and Election Results

More than 40 members attended the society meeting on December, 9th, at LamBo. In the meeting, Dr. Mamdouh Salamah announced the board election results, as follows:
Number of votes: 36

New Elected Board:

• President: Dr. Ezzat, Abouleish (Unanimous)
• Vice President: Dr. Ibrahim Abou Sayed (Unanimous)
• Treasury and Secretary: Ms. Tara Zaafaran (Unanimous)
• Member at Large - Contacts: Ms. Suzy Mustafa (33 Votes)
• Member at Large - Newsletter: Dr. Ayman Eltaher (Unanimous)

In the meeting, Ms. May Razik, gave her speech before transferring the leadership of the society to Dr. Abouleish. Dr. Ezzat Abouleish also gave his acceptance speeches in Arabic and English, emphasizing the non-sectarian nature of the EAS and asking for assistance from all members of the society in pushing forward the EAS performance. The society presented Ms. May with farewell presents, in recognition of her great effort in her leadership of the EAS for the last two years, and wishing her good luck in her moving back to Egypt.

Dr. Abouleish asked that two subgroups be created; namely, the Youth and Ladies subgroups, in order to encourage further involvement of the younger generations and ladies of the society with its activities.
