Happy Mother's Day (in Egypt)

This is just a reminder that March 21 is the Mother's Day (or Family's Day, as some call it) in Egypt. A great time for all of us who are away from our bigger families in Egypt to reach out to them, by phone or in prayers.

March Picnic

The society’s picnic last weekend at G. Bush Park was a great success. Almost 100 members and friends of all ages joined in the fun; games, socializing and great food. Thanks for everyone who attended, donated side dishes, and/or participated in organizing the function. We are looking forward to everyone’s attendance and company, 21st of next month, at the same place, for even more fun.

Safieah Ibrahim, the wife of Hidaiet Ibrahim, is currently hospitalized and in a coma. The EAS board and members wish her a speedy recovery.

Monthly Gathering

Come join us Saturday, March 17, 2007 for our monthly gathering from 2:00pm to 6:00 pm or whenever…..

This month we will have a fun filled picnic at George Bush Park!

Activities will include:

• Sports for youth members
• Children’s games
• Tawla competition for those men and women who wish to play and compete (trophies will be given to the winners!!!)
• Music
• Good food and good company
  

The cost for the picnic is free for members and children under 10 and $10.00 for non-members unless you plan to bring your own food and drinks.

Dear Members,
In order to subsidize the cost for you we need your help in contributing to the picnic by bringing food, drinks, supplies, and/or donating money or services.

Please email or call Tara Zaafran(713-824-2456) or Suzy Mostafa (281-827-3156) if you are bringing any of the following items needed for the picnic:

• Pickles
• Potato salad or macaroni salad
• Salads
• Chips- variety
• Drinks- soda, water, gatorade
• Desserts
• Plates, forks, spoons, and napkins
• Arabic CD’s
• Soccer ball and football
• Small balloons
• Serving utensils
• Tawla sets to play with other members
• Anyone who volunteers to take shifts in grilling food

Cancer Survivor Focus Group

THIS PROJECT IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING ESTABLISHED TO HELP THOSE WHO MAY DEVELOP CANCER AND THEIR FAMILIES TO COPE WITH THE DISEASE.
