OBITUARY

With sadness I received the news that Ambassador Fuad Sharif passed away. For the Board, the members, and myself I extend our condolences to his wife Mrs. Gihan and the members of his family. May God bless his soul and reward him for his good deeds.

EAS in Facebook

Dear EAS Member,

We came to know that EAS members in the social network Facebook are in the tens. We think this indeed can be an additional means of socializing and communication between members of the Society. It definitely is an excellent way of knowing a bit more about each other, through information and pictures posted about oneself and family, as well as through virtual and real friendship forms offered in the network.

With the kind help of Mona Elshahawi, EAS has now a "Group" in Facebook, where EAS members in Facebook can join. By doing so, we get to know other EAS members in Facebook, be virtual or real friends with them and can discuss issues of mutual interest. If you are interested in such forms of communication, we invite you to join Facebook and the "EAS Group," as a lively way of socializing and friendship in the Society.

Just like any social experience, be it in real life or in cyber space, EAS Board advises discretion in how you approach others and what kind of personal info rmation you should be giving away in the internet.

Minutes of December 15, 2007 Meeting

• The meeting was called to order by President Ezzat Abouleish at 6:00 pm.
• Mrs. Tara Zaafran, Secretary/Treasurer resigned because of family circumstances. Her resignation was accepted.
  
• Nomination for Secretary/Treasurer was called. There was only one candidate presented, that is Mr. Hani Elshahawi. He was unanimously elected to serve the remainder of Mrs. Zaafran’s term ending December 31, 2008.
  
• Dinner was served followed by social interaction.
  
• Meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.

GREETINGS FROM PRESIDENT MUBARAK

H.E. Ambassador Al-Houssaini abdelwahab has forwarded a letter to the Society’s president, Dr. Ezzat Abouleish, from President Hosney Mubarak. The letter conveys the Egyptian President's greetings to the Egyptians in the United States for the blessed coming of Eid ElAdha. The Society's Board and all Egyptians in Houston, in turn, extends their greetings to the President, the Ambassador and all Egyptians in the homeland for the Blessed holiday.
