Welcome Captain Samir, in Houston

Samir Othman is the Egyptian international referee appointed as the first Egyptian referee in a FIFA game in the US. The game is the Houston Dynamo vs. Club America of Mexico, on July 25^th, at Robertson Stadium, in Houston.

We encourage our Egyptian fellows and members of the Society to welcome our international referee and to make him feel at home in Houston. If you would like to have a word with Captain Samir, like to get more information about him, or if you just like to get a discounted ticket of that game, you can contact Magdy Kotb, at 832-489-5233.

An Egyptain Fellow in Urgent Need for Help

A former member of the Egyptian community in Houston is currently in urgent need for help. Not having the best of luck in his attempt to re-establish a new life in Egypt, he returned to Houston for his fate to meet even tougher luck; he was robbed and wiped out of all he had. He is currently living in a mosque that agreed to provide him with a shelter. Individuals have been supporting his daily livelihood, while some charity has been successful in collected about half the cost of a ticket for him to return back to Egypt.

The Egyptian American Society is requesting your kind support of this former member of the Egyptian community in Houston. Our goal is to collect US$500 as soon as possible, to complement what is already collected for the ticket.

We have omitted the identifying data of that person, as the noble deed not the name is what we are after. However, if you would like further information about the situation and how you can contribute, please contact the EAS through the contact information published on this page sidebar.

To whom who has missed live football (Soccer)

Dear Members,

There will be a football (soccer) game here in Houston on the 25th of July, Wednesday between the USA Dynamo team and a Mexican team (not sure). They are bringing in an Egyptian referee to ref the game, though. If anyone is interested in going to the game, Magdy Kotb can get discounted tickets for us.
